Fun at the Book Fair

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Hillsborough Book Fair at the Hillsborough library in NJ. I have to say for a first time book fair the turn out was impressive. Several hundred people visited through the course of the day. At my table I of course had Monster Needs a Costume and Monster Needs His Sleep set up for sale but what seemed to draw the kids over was the make your own night light craft I had going. The night light has to do with Monster Needs His Sleep. If you have read the book, Monster gets a blue canary night light at the end to help him go to sleep. This craft entailed a paper cup, some colored paper cut out shapes, gogglie eyes, glue dots (the greatest craft item ever invented) and glow sticks. Here are a few examples of the creativity the kids had at the show.

And here is one with the glow stick.

All in all it was a great day.  I may not have sold as many books that I wanted but the publicity, and fun, were worth it!
